Base Jumping
Another extreme sport utilising a parachute to jump from high, stationary objects, is called base jumping. Enthusiast try to describe this in four extreme locations where they can jump; buildings—like statues, sky scrapers; antenna—like cranes, radio antennas; span—like bridges, cable cars; earth—like cliffs, caves.

Base Jump
In the early 80’s, virtually almost all base jumps done used standard skydiving equipment, with another parachute as reserve, in case the other one does not come out. But later on, specialized equipment and techniques were developed and designed specialized equipment mainly for the sport.
And in the 90’s, the sport grew more popular as one of the extreme sports, however, it is still considered to be more like a daredevil stunt rather than a sport. And with more techniques being learned and better equipment now being used, performing the jump is made safer than before, though unavoidable fatalities and injuries still happen. This sport is totally dangerous, so make absolutely sure that this is the sport you want to experience.
Base jumping started from skydiving which eventually evolved into such sport. Base jumping competitions have been made since the early 80’s, and recently there were competitions organized and held in the Petronas Towers in Malaysia.
